Spyware is software that is built to collect data from the infected device and return it to the cyber-criminal.
This includes but is not limited to the following:

  • Banking information
  • Passwords
  • Social Security Numbers
  • User names
  • Video files
  • Digital photos
  • Emails and Texts

If Luma security blocking is enabled, this will disrupt communication with the destination and source sites of the Spyware or questionable software that may be collecting data from your home and/or devices.

However, many of these criminal systems are very robust and build several layers of redundancy. It is best that you review the compromised device and confirm that the system is up to date with respect to security patches. You should also review your anti-virus settings an make sure that they too are up to date. For more information regarding Luma Security, please click here.
